The 27 Tribute Exhibition By Steve Goodison

The 27 Tribute Exhibition by Steve Goodison is being held at the Harland Café at 72 John Street Sheffield South Yorkshire on Friday September 28 at 7.30pm.

Local pop artist, Steve Goodison is launching an exhibition called 27 which features potraits of 7 musicians who died at the age of 27.

All the artists’ deaths have been surrounded by mystery and conspiracy theories.

The pictures are all pencil drawings and include Amy Winehouse, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, & Richey Edwards. Other samples of Steve’s work will also be on display in the cafe.

The launch night will hopefully feature live music from local artist Dave White and the Harland Café would like to welcome everyone to come along.

Exhibition Tribute To Late Musicians

Images of some of the most famous faces to tragically die young will be adorning the walls of a cafe off London Road from this weekend.

Harland Cafe, on John Street, launches a new exhibition on Friday featuring work by local pop artist Steve Goodison.

It’s called “27” and simply features portraits of seven musicians who all died at the age of 27.

The pencil drawings include Amy Winehouse, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Richey Edwards.

Other samples of Steve’s work will also be on display in the cafe.

The launch night will also feature live music.

The 27 tribute exhibition by Steve Goodison are pencil drawings of the exclusive 27 Club members. The 27 Club, also known as Club 27 or Forever 27 Club, is a name given to a group of notable musicians who died at the young age of 27.

Here are the 27 Club member details:

Kurt Cobain (February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994)
Jimi Hendrix (November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970)
Robert Johnson (May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938)
Brian Jones (February 28, 1942 – July 3, 1969)
Janis Joplin (January 19, 1943 – 4 October 1970)
Jim Morrison (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971)
Amy Winehouse (September 14, 1983 – July 23, 2011)
