Brit Awards Tribute To Amy Winehouse YouTube Video
The 2012 Brit Awards tribute to Amy Winehouse was marked with a collection of photos and soundbites of interviews Amy had given over the years. Interviews were Amy had talked about getting a guitar, wanting to be a waitress or a housewife and how she made a lot of mistakes.
Following on from Amy’s Brit Awards win in 2007. Adele picked up the statuette for British female solo artist and finished off proceedings by scooping the coveted best album honour for “21” at the end of a two-hour televised show.
Amy Winehouse and Adele also shared producer Mark Ronson who described Amy as his musical soulmate. Amy and Adele also shared a North London upbringing.
Writing on Adele.tv the singer admitted that Amy Winehouse ‘paved the way’ for her.
We believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing. I don’t think she ever realised just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming.
The Brit Awards tribute to Amy Winehouse was following her recent 2012 Grammy Award win for Duets with Tony Bennett.
